Why are you so hard to work with? Why do you melt in the tube at the slightest rise in temperature? In fact I remember even in the cold of winter you were still a melting mess! Why? Even after I tried to "fix' you using my "how to fix a broken lipstick" post you still didn't get fixed.
I love wearing you on my lips, I really do, but why must I always have to put you in the freezer first for 10 minutes before I can actually apply you on my lips. And I've seen photos of you on other blogs, even for those other bloggers you seem to be showing tendencies to melt.
Of all the MAC lipsticks I've tried none have melted on me, ever. Are you maybe... gasp... not formulated right?
Anyone else own or have the same experience with their MAC Shy Girl melting in the tube?
that's - creepy.
ReplyDeleteThis happens with almost all of my MAC cremesheens and amplified creme lipsticks, very annoying! x
ReplyDeleteMaybe this lipstick is on different batch, thats why?
ReplyDeleteGotta admit it looks so so so good on you. I wonder how you reapply the lipstick?:)
use a lip pencil, problem solved :P
ReplyDeleteI hate it when that happens. Maybe try melting it into a lip pot, that worked for one of my Napoleon Perdis lipsticks after i left it in my handbag, in the car, all day -_-
ReplyDeleteGrace xx
Suzanne - also very annoying!
ReplyDeleteGeorgia - I've never had this happen to my other cremesheens, I don't know why this one is so bad.
Eve - It is a great colour, and you're right maybe it's from a weird bad batch. I only really wear it on days that I can't be bothered reapplying because I tell you it's not easy to reapply unless i've frozen the tube again.
Adinapup - i don't think lipliner will fix this, the lipstick itself stays put on my lips. It actually just melts in the tube so it's hard to apply.

Grace - that's probably what I will do. But knowing me if I melt it into a pot I'll never use it as it won't be that convenient. But then again it's not very practical now either! LOL.

EXACTLY SAME THING HAPPENED TO ME :(
ReplyDeleteShy Girl was my fav summer shade last summer and it melted half way through :(
That's so strange because I've had two Shy Girl lipsticks and none have ever melted before!
ReplyDeleteAnd South Africa does have quite hot weather!
Hopefully it was just a bad batch, I need to buy a new Shy Girl soon. Just finished a few days ago and I miss it already!
Must be a cremesheen! Always happens with my cremesheens - very annoying!
ReplyDeleteThis is exactly what happens to my Shy Girl. I love the color too much, well Cremesheens in general but I hate this! It's weird that this is my only Cremesheen lipstick that melts like this. It actually melted so much it broke on the bottom so I only twist it up a little bit when I apply it. It sucks :/
ReplyDeletereally a gorgeous color and too unfortunate that it melts. maybe you got a dud?
ReplyDeleteAdeline - weird babe, and I really want to wear it more but it's too annoying!
ReplyDeleteLaiqah - that's it, I'm going to somehow get me the Sth Africa edition of Shy Girl since you've never had problems with yours.
Vita - I've got a few other cremesheens and they're ok, but this one, aaaghhh
Ebru - Sounds like many others are having a similar problem, wonder if they made a dodgy batch and we all ended up with them! Such a pretty shade, shame.
Donna - I know right, gorgeous colour but a pain in the a*** to apply!

That's what my creme d' nude looks like :(
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't spend that kind of money on a MAC lipstick if they melt easily. That's why my general rule is to stick to glosses in the summer and lipsticks in the winter because if you carry one around in your purse in warm weather...that's what happens. My love for lipsticks have grown, but I really hate that it doesn't have that kind of versatility when it comes to withstanding certain temperatures.
ReplyDeleteI don't own shy girl, but I haven't had this issue with the mac lippies that I do own. Maybe you should depot it? That way you won't have to put it in the freezer before you apply it, you can just use a lip brush. :) Looks gorg on you btw!
ReplyDeleteHmmm I have Shy Girl but this hasn't happened... yet!
ReplyDeleteI am sorry this happened to you, Lilit. I am surprised actually because I have had Shy Girl for quite some time-even during the warm and humid summer months, and it has not melted. The only MAC lipstick that has semi-malted on me was Creme D' Nude.
ReplyDeleteI actually hate using my Shy Girl because it's so hard! Weird, huh?
ReplyDeleteohhh yes. i have it-exact same problem.
ReplyDeleteOh my my my......that's sad!!!
ReplyDeleteIt really is a bother when that happens. Perhaps it is a bad batch as everyone suggests?
ReplyDeleteHave you tried depotting into a container and applying with your finger/a lip brush? That's what I've done when my lipsticks have ended up in a sorry state.

I don't own this color D: BUT NOW I WANT TO...BUT IT WILL MELT. WHAT TO DO!
ReplyDeletewow that's weird. Sorry to hear that.. total bummer.

Oh dear.. I hope mine doesn't melt off too!! I really like shy girl.. It would be so sad to have it melt!
ReplyDeleteLove that colour! Looks so nice on you!
ReplyDeleteI would melt it im a pot and apply by using brush:) I think it would be more easy:)
Have a nice new week!
Best wishes
Oh now! How annoying! It's a pretty colour on you as well...I guess it's just not meant to be...
ReplyDeleteThat's a shame, it's such a lovely color! I was thinking of purchasing it, but perhaps not:(
