These YSL Rouge Voluptes satisfy my pink lipstick craving

Long time readers will know of my obsession with lipstick. Newer readers (hi!) will soon get to know how much I love lipstick, especially bold, bright colours.

My addiction to YSL Rouge Volupte lipsticks is new, even though these lipsticks have been around forever. There is something very luxurious about them, the gold packing, the way the lid clicks into place, the ultra glam way they make me feel when I'm freshening my lippy in public (yes, I do that).

YSL Rouge Volupte #8 Fetish Pink
This is the brighter of the two, almost a barbie pink but it's very wearable. It's one of those colours that even with little else makeup, this will make you look polished and put together.

YSL Rouge Volupte #19 Frivolous Pink
This is a paler, bubblegum pink colour and I know that if I get a bit of a tan in summer this will probably look horrible on me. But in the meantime I'm happy to wear this colour as much as I can.

If there is one thing I don't like about them, they don't last very long. As they are super creamy they come off at the first sign of food, or 3 hours if no eating/or drinking. But since they are perfect in every other way I don't mind too much.

I bought my YSLs from Cosmo Cosmetics in Wynyard for around $25 each. At the AU department stores they sell for $55each, however places like Strawberry Net and All Cosmetics Wholesale usually have them in stock for the $20 - $25 mark as well.

Have you tried YSL Rouge Voluptes?

  3. I love these shades! Unfortunately, it would seem i'm allergic to the formula. I bought Peach Passion and had to return it because my lips got red and swollen. I was also a bit disappointed with how sheer it was on my lips. :( Seeing them on you makes me wish the above wasn't the case!

  5. These look AMAZING on you!! I particularly love the first pink. I've never taken the plunge and tried these YSL lipsticks because of the limited wear time, but the colours are so pretty!! :D

  6. Steal My Heart Love - thanks hun, they are such great lippies aren't they?

Dani - yes! Why did I not think of the connection! They are perfect for breast cancer awareness month.

Eden - oh I can't believe you were allergic to them. I'll have to stop talking about them from now on so you don't feel bad.

Peta - I have too many too, but hasn't stopped me! LOL

Sarah - yeah such a bummer that they only last 3 hrs or so, I'd expect longer from something so $$$, but oh well.

  7. I share the same obsession as you with YSL Rouge Voluptes! They are SUPER creamy and glides on like magic. However, the only thing I don't like is it ALWAYS stains my teeth. :(

Looking good as always, Lilit! :)

  11. Both of these look great on you, esp Fetish pink. Too bad they don't last long but then half the fun is taking em out of the bag and reapplying while the mere mortals around you gawk at the beautiful packaging ;)

  18. I just recently got one of these in No 40. Its a gorgeous peach colour. I LOVE the packaging but I am not sold on the formula just yet. I find it is too creamy and doesn't last long on my lips :( But since the packaging is so gorgeous I don't mind so much re-applying more often.
