The one I have is called Rose Culte (#11) and it's a bright rose pink colour with reddish undertones.
Words cannot describe how creamy this lipstick is, it just glides on lips, you barely have to touch it to your lips, it's super hydrating, and despite me thinking this wouldn't last long due to the creaminess, it does! This one lasts me through 2 cups of coffees before needing a touch up. It wears off nicely, leaving a soft rose stain on the lips. L.O.V.E.

I've found that if I keep my eye makeup soft, i.e. no eyeliner, like in the pic below, I can get away with wearing this during day time.
In this photo below I'd worn during a dinner out, and I think with the heavier lined eyes it looks a bit too dressy and formal. I much prefer it with a messier fringe and softer eye makeup.
As I mentioned earlier, if I could afford it I would buy a lot more of the YSL Rouge Voluptes, but they are incredibly expensive here. I think they're around $AUD55 at Myer/DJs (which as per today's currency converter equals $US58 or GBP 35 or Euro 41) so yes, it's very very expensive. I bought mine at a discount cosmetics store for $AUD20... I wish they had more colours, as I'd definitely be getting them all!

ReplyDeleteThe colour looks amazing, it reminds me of MAC girl about town. Sadly they do not stay on my lips at all. I am sure if a cheaper brand would make a similar formula everyone would bash them:P

@Elly - I tried girl about town but it looked too purple on my lips, this one is a bit warmer toned. This one stays on my lips quite a while, but I've seen that it also comes in a sheer formula which to me is pointless...if you're spending so much money on lipsticks you want the colour to pop! :)

Wow I can't believe how expensive it is in AU! The Rouge Voluptes are a line that I would love to own every single one too =) The lippies are amazing and the packaging is just to die for!

ReplyDelete@Adeline - yes babe, you totally need to check out Cosmo Cosmetics, they have Vercace, Estee Lauder, YSL and all other kinds of brands v.cheap. Next time you're at Parra you have no excuse. Oh and I saw those two lippies at allcosmetics wholasale and added to my wishlist for next time I put an order through. Fetish pink especially is to die for.

ReplyDeleteI had this shade once upon a time but I'm not a huge fan of the YSL Volupte Formulas.. They're waay too creamy.. But the colour is AMAZING! And it looks stunning on you!

Ambi - I bought mine from Cosmo Cosmetics. Both their Wynyard and Parramatta stores sell the YSL lippies, Wynyard has more of a range of colours though they're $25 there and $20 at Parra. But considering they're $55 at Myer I'm more than happy to pay only $25 for them. Thanks by the way!

I bought them at about US$34 at my local YSL counter (I'm Indonesian, btw). and it smell like CANDY!!! not a chapstick kinda smell, but it's a very sweet and subtle kinda smell. Plus I will never ever throw the tube away. Too precious!
