Everything's roses

I love the smell of roses, real roses that is. Up until recently I didn't like products fragranced with roses, but then a few months ago everything changed. I don't really know what caused me to like that smell but now I love it.

I have three products that I use constantly and they all smell of roses.

Jurlique Rose Hand Cream
Despite being a a cult product I hadn't tried this until a few months ago, I just didn't think I'd like the smell. But after seeing it on sale I decided to give it a try.

This is highly fragranced and super rich, but it's definitely not greasy. A tiny little bit goes a long way, and my hands feel hydrated straight after applying. The cream sinks into my skin very quickly, without leaving my hands with that yucky clammy feeling. I also really like the metal tube it comes in, it's actually easier to squeeze the cream out of this rather than from a plastic tube. I will definitely repurchase when this runs out.

Smith's Rosebud Salve
Another cult product which I only started using a few months ago, main reason being that I hadn't actually seen it at the shops before (or I just didn't pay attention to it). This is a great non-greasy lipbalm and I use it every morning and night. In the jar it has a pink/red tinge but it goes clear on my lips. Will definitely repurchase this as well.

Natio Glow Skin Brightening Face Balm
I bought this on a whim one time from Priceline without even really thinking about it. I was looking for a cheap light moisturiser, and this one caught my eye. Plus I was drawn to the lovely fresh rose fragrance. Balms are funny things, I don't know whether they're meant to be moisturisers or primers, so I use them as both.

As a primer this evens out my skin and helps my foundation glide on smoother and leaves my face looking glowy. As a moisturiser this is very light and probably not good for dry skin, but for my normal/combination skin this gives enough hydration in summer when my skin is generally feeling oilier. I wouldn't use this as a moisturiser in winter though, as it's not rich enough. I will probably repurchase, unless I find something else that catches my eye.

Have you tried any of these products? Do you like rose fragrances?

  5. Smiths Rosebud Salve is the best however then one I use comes in the little white tube - would you know at all if the version in the tin is more concentrated? Because I'd like to try it :)

  8. The rose hand cream is lovely, I used to work on a Jurlique counter and that was one of my fave products of theirs. The metal tube means it lasts longer and they don't have to pack it full of preservatives. The Jurlique daily exfoliator is awesome too, full of oats, honey and flowers!
