Everything's roses

I love the smell of roses, real roses that is. Up until recently I didn't like products fragranced with roses, but then a few months ago everything changed. I don't really know what caused me to like that smell but now I love it.

I have three products that I use constantly and they all smell of roses.

Jurlique Rose Hand Cream
Despite being a a cult product I hadn't tried this until a few months ago, I just didn't think I'd like the smell. But after seeing it on sale I decided to give it a try.

This is highly fragranced and super rich, but it's definitely not greasy. A tiny little bit goes a long way, and my hands feel hydrated straight after applying. The cream sinks into my skin very quickly, without leaving my hands with that yucky clammy feeling. I also really like the metal tube it comes in, it's actually easier to squeeze the cream out of this rather than from a plastic tube. I will definitely repurchase when this runs out.

Smith's Rosebud Salve
Another cult product which I only started using a few months ago, main reason being that I hadn't actually seen it at the shops before (or I just didn't pay attention to it). This is a great non-greasy lipbalm and I use it every morning and night. In the jar it has a pink/red tinge but it goes clear on my lips. Will definitely repurchase this as well.

Natio Glow Skin Brightening Face Balm
I bought this on a whim one time from Priceline without even really thinking about it. I was looking for a cheap light moisturiser, and this one caught my eye. Plus I was drawn to the lovely fresh rose fragrance. Balms are funny things, I don't know whether they're meant to be moisturisers or primers, so I use them as both.

As a primer this evens out my skin and helps my foundation glide on smoother and leaves my face looking glowy. As a moisturiser this is very light and probably not good for dry skin, but for my normal/combination skin this gives enough hydration in summer when my skin is generally feeling oilier. I wouldn't use this as a moisturiser in winter though, as it's not rich enough. I will probably repurchase, unless I find something else that catches my eye.

Have you tried any of these products? Do you like rose fragrances?

  1. I hate rose scents sadly hehe :-( I love vaseline rosy lips but the scent bothers me, however the rose version of flower bomb smells quite nice when i smell it on others! xoxo

  2. I adore rose scented anything! Have not had a go at any of these items, I think I need to. I'm planning a rose-themed week soon, I have a decent collection ;)

  3. I love the smell of roses! I actually use rose water on my face every night after cleansing and it leaves my skin super soft!

  4. I also have the rosebud salve! Which I will be doing a review on soon :) It's great for everything.

  5. Smiths Rosebud Salve is the best however then one I use comes in the little white tube - would you know at all if the version in the tin is more concentrated? Because I'd like to try it :)

  6. I love rose fragrance! Definitely going to check that Natio Balm out. (:

  7. Where did you get the rosebud salve from? And how much? I've been searching for them everywhere!

  8. The rose hand cream is lovely, I used to work on a Jurlique counter and that was one of my fave products of theirs. The metal tube means it lasts longer and they don't have to pack it full of preservatives. The Jurlique daily exfoliator is awesome too, full of oats, honey and flowers!

  9. @Ellysmakeupbag - I used to be like you, hated the smell but now i love it. Haven't smelled that perfume yet, will keep an eye out for it

@Emma - looking fwd to your rose themed posts

@Ailah - That sounds so lovely, I need to get one myself

@Vintage Makeup - looing fwd to your review!

@Megan - I haven't seen the one in the tube, but this one in the tin is quite thick and concentrated.

@Michelle - yeah it's not bad the Natio one, and pretty cheap, around $12 I think.

@Leah - Got it from a pharmacy in Canberra last time I was there for work. Maybe google stockists for it in Brisbane area?

@SJ - Oh that sounds lovely, the exfoliator. I really love the smell of oats too, I def need to check it out!
