Here are my Top 5 pastel coloured makeup.
Clockwise from bottom left - Australis lipstick in Honky Tonk, Tarte blush in Dollface, Essie Van D'Go, NYX 3 colour shadows, Nicole by OPI My Lifesaver |
Nail polishes - Nicole by O.P.I. My Lifesaver and Essie Van D'Go
These are both such gorgeous colours and so easy to wear. The aqua colour especially is great with a summer tan. You can see My Lifesaver in a NOTD HERE. As for the pastel peachy colour from Essie, normally such shades just give me mannequin hands as they make my nails blend in with the colour of my hands, however this is pale enough to stand out even on medium toned skin. I did a NOTD using Essie Van D'Go a few days ago which you can view HERE.
Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Dollface
I absolutely adore this shade, it's a pale pink that packs enough colour to show up even on my skintone. It's fast become one of my favourite pink blushes. You can see proper swatches of it in this old post HERE.
Australis Colour Inject Lipstick in Honky Tonk
This is such a pretty peachy shade, and it's a very close dupe to MAC Everhip except at a third of the price. I will do a comparison post of the two at a later date. I've only had it for a couple of weeks but have been wearing it maybe 5 times a week.
I took this photo when I first got the lippy, it's definitely more used up now! |
NYX 3 Color Eyeshadow in Baby Pink/Barely There/Cotton Candy
I got this one on a whim because I was looking for pale highlight colours. These are great to use with purple, brown or grey smokey eyes when highlighting the inner corners. It's not anything special, but for the price (around $6AUD at a discount store in Sydney) they're good value.

Do you like pastel coloured makeup or do you find it hard to wear?
Pinky lips and cheeks I love, but eyes.. I think i'm too scared to wear :P

Haha, my middle name should be pastel! I don't even want to begin to count the number of pastel nail polishes I have - they're just soo pretty.
ReplyDeleteI love that lipstick colour - Australis have fantastic shades!
I'm in love with the Nyx palette. Did you buy this from Groove?
ReplyDeleteThat blush and lipstick looks gorgeous! Beautiful!

Your Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Dollface is such a pretty pink shade!
ReplyDeleteLOL, I tend to run the other direction when I see pastel colors - they tend to lean cool, or, at least too cool for my skin tone.
ReplyDeleteThat lipstick is really pretty though! I like the Essie nail polish too. :)
These are really pretty pastels! I just purchased one of Tarte's clay blushes in Amused. I am loving the pigmentation and wear so far. I really like both the shades you chose too.
ReplyDeletepastels are so pretty but I just can't make them work!! I love that essie polish tho!!!
ReplyDeleteGianna - I can't do it all over the eyes, just the inner corners. Otherwise I look washed out.
ReplyDeleteCally - Australis has really lifted their game the last few years, the quality, colours, etc. is just amazing now.
Vita - I bought it from another store but did see it in Groove Melb Central a month or so ago.
Candice - thanks hun, the blush gets a lot of workout from me.
Rose - It's one of my favourites, so easy to wear.
Pretty Me Purple - pastels are definitely hard to pull off.
PinkGlitter - I was going to get Amused, but ended up with Tipsy and Dollface instead. I might still change my mind and get it, LOL.
Prettyinpink - Pastel polishes are the easiest to make work, the rest of the time only in moderation I think.

I adore pastel shades! Great post idea Lilit :)
ReplyDeleteHi Lilit, I had completely forgotten about my NYX trios until I read your post - I'll have to go and dig them out. The Tarte blush looks so pretty!

I find them slightly hard to wear! I am on the lighter side of dusky (dont know how else to put it :))
ReplyDeleteI love peach and got some too but feel it seems unrealistic, on my lips esp :p
The Tarte blush seems pretty though, not v pastel I mean...
Unless silver counts as a pastel, I tend to avoid them. Unless i'm going for a mod look or something! I'm pretty smack dab in the middle of the skintone color range so I really dislike how they wash me out.
ReplyDeleteI rarely wear pastel shades for this reason, though I am partial to a light pink blush and lilac lip. ;] I'll have to check out that Australis lipstick, it looks beauuutiful!
