Dior Amber Diamond - yep, worth the hype!

I've been lemming after the Christian Dior Shimmer Powder in Amber Diamond for a long time, exasperated by the fact that Tali never stops talking about how fantastic it is. So when I saw them sold at Strawberry Net I knew this baby would be mine.

There are already so many fabulous reviews of this highlighter out there, so you don't need me to tell you anything more about its buttery texture and the perfect sheen it gives to cheeks. All I will say is that the hype is totally worth it for me.

Christian Dior Amber Diamond

Swatches
It has various shades from pale champagne to warm bronze which swirled together create a beautiful glow.

It can be worn alone for a natural glow, or over your favourite blush to highlight your cheekbones.

In the photos below I'm wearing it alone without a blush. I mainly picked up the colour from the middle of the pan where it's darker, and wore it on my cheeks like I would a blush.

I absolutely love this, it's gained HG status in no time at all. In daylight it makes my skin look like it has a natural glow, in artificial lighting it makes my skin really light up (but not in a disco ball way!). Yep, love it.

Have you got Dior Amber Diamond? What are your favourite highlighters?

  1. Gorgeous! I'm so into highlighters this summer. I'm using liquid highlighter by Clinique atm. But I think I'm going to check out this Dior on strawberrynet tonight. Love the bronze shades of it.

  12. I bought this on Strawberrynet as well at the start of the year however I never seem to use it much :/ don't really know why, it's become a "too precious to use item" in my makeup collection. You've reminded me how gorgeous it is, looks beautiful on you. I'm loving Watts Up the new one by Benefit, that's my fave at the moment.

  17. Hi Lilit

I'm a long time reader first time commenter. I look forward to reading your blog every night.

I love the idea of Amber Diamond and picked it up whilst in the US recently. However, I'm not having much luck finding a brush that actually picks up the product.

Any tips on which brush to use. I've tried my Sigma F40 and an Eco Tools blush brush?

    Thanks
    Sandra

  19. Thanks for the comments everyone, and sorry for creating a lemming... blame Tali!

Sandra - thanks so much for reading and commenting hun. I use a tapered blush brush with Amber Diamond. Something fairly dense so it can pick up the product. Mine is from Royal & Langnickel, came in a brush set. There's a picture of the set here and the brush I use is the only one not in the case http://beautyusa.royalbrushstore.com/products/productdetail/BCGL-12T+-+SILK+PRO+GreenLine+12+Piece+Ec/part_number=BCGL-12T/201.2.1.1.43091.107241.107244.0.0?pp=12&

I've also heard people use flat fan blush but that didn't work for me. I don't think you need to go expensive with the brush, just something soft but dense. Good luck!
