I used BYS Lipstick in Champagne Rain. This is one of my favourite budget lippies, and is a great dupe for MAC Hue. Here's a post where I compared the two.
Champagne Rain is a very light pinkish nude, and would look great with a super dark smokey eye... And that's where I went wrong with my look for today...
I really should have done a darker eye as I feel that I look quite washed out with the lighter eye colours I used.
I used to wear this lipstick quite a lot last winter when I was paler, as it stood out more against my skin, but now I feel it just blends in with my skintone and gives me concealer lips (not pretty).
I think I might have to shelve this for a few more months until I'm paler and can wear it without it washing me out.

What do you think of the Nude lip? It's ok, you can be honest, I know it looks fairly plain on me. Do you do nude lips or do you think that trend is now dead... or at least asleep?

I'm not keen on nude lips myself, but I do think this one quite suits you. I thought the brighter lip like Impassioned really suited you.

I find it quite hard to pick out nude lippies. When I swatch them on my hand I think they look dark enough not to give me that "concealer" look but on my lips it's a totally different story! Maybe I'm just not used to a nude lip on myself..

It may be a trick of the photography, but I don't think you have concealer lips at all in these pics. It looks really flattering on you, and is actually a really day-appropriate way to wear the look!

I'm not really a fan of nude lip colours either. Champagne Rain looks pretty on you but brighter shades like Impassioned look fab! x

Thanks so much for your feedback girls, I'm still in two minds over the nude at the moment, I might have to give it a try again with diff colour eyeshadows to see how I feel. Your comments are def appreciated and made me feel a bit less blah about the look though.
