MAC Viva Glam Nicki vs Savvy Long Lasting Matte lipstick in Blossom ($6.95 at Priceline)
These two look very similar in the tube, however Savvy is slightly warmer and deeper. Also the formula is different. Savvy is quite matte, whereas the MAC one is a satin finish.

MAC Impassioned vs Face of Australia Lasting Looks lip creme in Love Berry ($10.95 at Priceline)
MAC Impassioned is my absolute favourite lipstick, so I'm always on the lookout for a good dupe in case I run out of the original. The FOA lippy*, full name Love You Berry Long Time, is pretty close, it's just slightly deeper and more berry toned than Impassioned.

Let's look at some swatches and see how they compare, shall we? I'd say while they're not 100% dupes, they are pretty close! And considering MAC lipsticks cost almost $20 more than these Aussie dupes, these are definitely dupes worth having.

ReplyDeleteThey're fantastic, although some are better than others! I've bought Blossom and San Fran. Blossom lasts about 4 and looks fresh, whereas San Fran I've worn a whole day at work (8:30 - 5:30) and it's still looked good. A few that I tried at Priceline as well, some shades looked more pigmented than others so you really need to try them to see for yourself. But overall considering they're $6 they're worth it!

I was looking at swatches last night and tempting myself-- i do like FOA so i'll try theirs out first... and being it's TWO and a HALF times cheaper than Mac makes it sweeter, i cannot believe the markup. The other lipstick being $6.95 is $30 cheaper than mac.... ugh it makes me so annoyed they have the gall to charge us that and yet Americans are only charged $15-$16 :-/
ReplyDeleteIt's quite ridiculous isn't it how expensive things are here in comparison to what our overseas friends pay. I do absolutely love MAC lipsticks, but I can't afford to buy them all the time at that price so dupes are definitely great! :)
