The Inner Corner Highlight OR How To Get Eyes Like a Victoria's Secret Angel

I love the eye makeup of the Victoria's Secret Angels - it's glamorous, sexy yet wearable. And not that the Angels need any help in this department, it makes them look bright eyed and awake. What's their trick? Have a look at the photos below of three of my favourite angels. Yep, they all have highlighted inner corner of eyes. Doesn't it make their eyes just pop? And that little trick works on us mere mortals too, you don't have to be an Angel to be bright eyed and bushy tailed!

Favourite Inner Corner Highlighters
Here are four products I use frequently to highlight my eyes, although any shimmery white /gold /champagne shade will do.

The colours, left to right, are:
  • Laura Mercier Caviar Stick in Sugar Frost - this is the shimmeriest of them all. I love wearing this when I'm really trying to draw attention to my eyes. Because the colour leans warm, I tend to wear it mainly with warmer coloured eyeshadows like browns and bronzes. You can see this in action in THIS post here.
  • MAC eyeshadow in Phloof - this is a repurchase as it's one of those perfect highlight shades, not too glittery and with the right amount of sheen to draw attention to the eyes. It goes with all eyeshadow shades, but I tend to use it when wearing cooler colours like greys and navies.
  • MAC eyeshadow in Retrospeck - I love this shade, the white gold is so flattering and it's less shimmery than the Laura Mercier caviar stick, so it makes it an ideal everyday highlight with brown smokey eyes.
  • NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk - this has no shimmer whatsoever, but the milky white shade is enough to brighten the whole area and help me fake 12 hours sleep.

  4. You recreated that look so well! I have a really dry inner eye area so its really hard for me to find products that don't look clumpy in there!
