Sportsgirl Lipstick in Violet Crumble - definitely worth a try!

It's been years since I've actually bought clothes from Sportsgirl. The styles don't seem to appeal to me anymore (am I getting too old? too uncool?), and truth be told I do find them quite overpriced for what they are. However, something that isn't overpriced is their cosmetics line! Especially the lipsticks. Even though I don't buy clothes from there anymore, I do tend to drop in every now and again to check out their accessories and yes, maybe even see if there's anything there I'd like to wear. On one such occasion I happened to pass the lipstick counter and this shade just caught my eye. It's called Violet Crumble.

It's a matte violet purple which is very wearable as there's still quite a lot of warmth in it. It's the perfect transitional shade to take you from summer to autumn, and even winter. It's bright enough for summer, but subdued enough not to scream unnaturally on a dark gloomy autumn's day. It costs $9.95AUD and the choice of colours is just amazing. And I even spotted quite a few dupes of lipsticks from a certain brand starting with M ending in AC.
Wearing Sportsgirl lipstick in Violet Crumble

If you haven't tried any of the Sportsgirl lipsticks, go into the store, check them out, and guaranteed you'll fall in love with one of them.

Have you tried any cosmetics from Sportsgirl? Do you shop there?

    1. Thanks Ann! On my eyes I've used my Laura Mercier Colour Wardrobe palette, the actual eyeshadow colour is called Crystal Beige (a lightly shimmery taupe/brown), and on my cheeks I'm wearing Illamasqua blush in Lover. Hope that helps!

  3. I love Sportsgirl lippies, especially the matte ones. The quality is great, similar to Chi Chi but for half the price!

  5. After reading your post early March I went to Sportsgirl store near my work and bought 'Enchanted' lipstick. It's gorgeous. Its similar to the one you bought but more suitable for my NC42 skintone. I also bought their pucker up lip crayon in 'Bombshell' (red). I have tried their eyeshadows before but not their lipsticks. Thanks for sharing. I have been following you blog for few years now and have a 18 month old boy so love your mummy posts as well.

    1. Oooh I just google Enchanted, such a beautiful purple! I doubt I'd be able to pull of that shade but I bet it looks great on NC42 skin tone. To be quite honest I'm not a huge fan of their eyeshadows, the pigmentation is a bit weak but their lipsticks are fabulous! I'm glad you liked them :). And thank you so much for taking the time out to comment. Especially with an 18 month old as truth be told they can be a handful at times :)
