C'est la vie

I finally got the chance to try an Essence nail polish. This one is called C'est La Vie, or "Such is life" if you want it translated. I picked this up at a recent Priceline haul, and while it's not the best nail polish ever, considering it's only AUD $2.55 I can't really complain.

It's a gorgeous orangey/peach colour that goes opaque in 2 coats (or 1 thick coat) and dries in no time. What let this down is wear time. The day after I applied it I had signs of wear around the tips, and the day after that it started chipping. But oh well, c'est la vie.

Here are a couple of swatches in direct and indirect sun light.

I love how it matches my new lipstick perfectly... and the new lipstick is...? you'll have to wait till the next post to find out!

Have you tried Essence nail polishes?
What colour should I try next?

  1. Essence is a very popular brand in Ireland, widely available almost anywhere. Although the quality is not the best, comparing to the top make-up range, it is absolutely 100 percent competitive. I have tried many available cheap brands here, but Essence is simply unbelievable for its price!!! In fact half of my make-up bag is now filled with Essence stuff (and I am not a teen) - it is definitely a steal

    1. Sounds like I need to try more from the brand! I keep hearing good things about them and at that price I'm more than happy to try a few things.

  2. I love Essence nailpolishes and I really like them! The new Nude Range has a different formula, I have a nailpolish from that range:http://www.dramanmakeup.com/2012/07/notd-essence-cafe-ole.html , and it lasts up to seven days!
If you have the chance, try Essence's gel eyeliners, they're really good!
Is Catrice available in Australia as well? It's Essence's grown up version, still produced by Cosnova but with better packaging and with a lot of great products! xx

    1. Ooh I'll check it out now! And no, Catrice isn't available here as far as I can tell. I'll look into it, maybe they'll ship to Aistralia. xx

  9. I've neglected my poor fingernails for too long. I get my feet done regularly but not my hands.
