Here is a quick picture tutorial on how to fix a broken blush (or eyeshadow, or powder) with alcohol.
I left mine to dry overnight but it was still a bit damp around the edges (as seen below), so I left it for another night. It does't look pretty, and gone is the lovely pattern that was on it but at least it's fixed! You can also use the same technique to press loose pigments, which I've done so HERE.

Have you used this technique to fix any broken makeup?
yes i have. a prize was shipped to me and i received it broken. that's a too faced palette, to be honest one of my most expensive ones now. i fixed it with this method. :) id be heartbroken if i ever had this blush and broke it. :)
ReplyDeleteOh that's too bad it was all broken, and a too faced palette would have taken you ages to fix as the shadows are so many and so small! Well glad to know it's fixed now :)
Deleteany other alternative to alcohol ?
ReplyDeleteYou can use sealing agent as well if you're worried about alcohol, but alcohol is cheaper and the smell completely disappears when it dries.
DeleteI had tried this and it's working great.. thank you so muchh :)

Is there any other way to fix broken blush???
ReplyDeleteThe only other way is to use a sealing agent instead of alcohol, or you can mash it all up and use it in powder form instead of pressing it. As far as I know there's no other way to fix it unfortunately.
Deletedoes it still portray as the same colour on your skin as before? (it just looks like it has changed colour since fixing it)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy reading your posts :)
The colour is exactly the same as before, the alcohol will not change it. The only reason it looks different in my picture is because it was still wet, but after about 2 days it completely dried and is the exact same shade.
DeleteAnd thanks for the feedback on my posts :)
Great tip! I've never done that before, I only have ever chopped up a broken pressed powder and used it as a loose powder :)

I don't know what rubbing alcohol is but I have used a tissue across the powder and pressed down firmly to seal the powder back into a cake.
ReplyDeleteGreat tip!
