Australis Curve Ink Eyeliner makes it easy to do a cat eye

I love a nicely drawn cat eyeliner, it's so chic, so Parisienne. And yet despite years of practice I'm no expert at it. Liquid eyeliners scare me as I can never get a steady enough hand to do a straight line. So when this nifty little liner was sent to me for review, its ergonomically shaped curved handle intrigued me.

As you can see the handle is curved, which once you get used to it, makes it easier to hold and therefore control. It has a firm felt tip, which again makes it easier to control and draw lines as thick or think as you want. The colour is a nice dark black. Here is how it looks on my eyes.

Pros
- The curved design gives more control over the liner
- Dries quickly
- Does not smudge or flake off
- Fine tip makes it easy to do a thin line, but also press it down for a thicker line
- Long lasting
- Washes off easily

Cons
Nothing...yet. My only worry is, I find that most felt tip liners tend to run out/dry up quickly, so given this has a felt tip I worry this too will dry up quickly. So I will update this post after a few weeks to let you know how long this lasted.

Price - $14.95 AUD available exclusively from Priceline or Australis online stores.

What do you think of this eyeliner?

  5. I've had my eye on this, but I'm on a spending ban which means it'll have to wait! I love the cat eye look, although I'm in no way scared of liquid eyeliner hehe.. but it looks way easier than the usual way!

    1. It's definitely easier to use than a regular liquid liner that's for sure! :)

  6. Very clever!
My fave is Rimmel felt tip liner. It's the blackest black, and easy to apply. I recently strayed to the MAC liquid liner and it does not compare in the slightest to Rimmel.

    1. Haha, just goes to show that expensive isn't always best if the Rimmel one performed better than the MAC one. I'll have to check it out next time I'm at the store.

  10. Hi Lilit! I love your blog. I stumbled upon it a few months ago I wanted to purchase a Lancome Rouge in Love lipcolor and you helped me decide! :)

I love the cateye and hope that they make a product like this for sale in the US! It does look much easier to use. My cat eyes are never even!

Have you ever done a blog post about your lipstick routine? I would love to read about it! Which exfoliators do you use? Do you wear lipliner? Do you wear anything as a top layer to keep the lipstick on longer? I wear lipstick frequently, but it seems to move all over my lips. It looks great when I first apply, but doesn't last. You lips always look fabulous and I am dying to know your secret!

    1. Hi Alicia,

Thank you so much for your email, I'm glad my post helped you decide on the Lancome lipstick. Which one did you end up getting?

To tell the truth I don't really have much of a lipstick routine. I'm too lazy to exfoliate my lips but when they get dry I make sure to apply plenty of lip balm. I usually use either Smiths Rosebud Salve or Carmex, but if I can't find those ones then any lip balm will do! I also hardly use lipliner. The only thing that I do is I apply a bit of foundation or concealer on my lips before applying my lipstick. This seems to make my lipsticks last longer and the colour shows truer. Apart from that there's no other secret!

I have done a post about my tips for wearing bright lipsticks which is here. http://www.makeupandmacaroons.com/2012/09/5-tips-for-wearing-bright-lipsticks.html

You gave me a great idea though, I might do a quick post about my "secret" to making lipstick last :)
