Besame Cosmetics Review & Makeup Look

I picked up these two products from IMATS a few weeks ago. I had heard absolutely nothing about Besame Cosmetics before, but I was drawn by the gorgeous packaging and the vintage inspired stall that they had there. Before I knew it I'd handed over my cash and got myself a new foundation and a lipstick.

Besame Cosmetics Souffle Foundation in Honey
This is a full coverage foundation and only the tiniest bit is needed needed to give cover to the entire face. The consistency is quite thick and is probably suited more to a concealer than a foundation. It blends fairly easily and gives a nice sheen upon application, but does start to get shiny after about 6hrs of wear even when powdered down. I would say this is more of a nighttime/special occasion foundation as the full coverage can look unnatural at daytime. My only issue is the colours - it only comes in 5 shades so you're very limited there. I was colour matched to Honey but I think it's too pale for my NC25 skin tone. I would say it's probably closer to an NC20. The next colour up (Medium Beige) was far too dark. Because the shade isn't quite right for me, and because of how heavy a coverage is I've been using it as a concealer instead and really loving it. But at AUD $45 I won't be in a rush to repurchase. (It was 20% off at IMATS).

Besame Cosmetics lipstick in Portrait Pink
This dusty pink shade is a beautiful everyday MLBB (my-lips-but-better) colour. It's semi-matte colour that comes in a glamorous gold case, very vintage. It's very pigmented and with one swipe you get full coverage of colour. The shape of the bullet is something I'm still getting used to. The flat top is meant to make it easier for you to get precise lines so you don't even have to line your lips, but I'm finding it has the opposite effect on me. If I was a lip brush user this wouldn't be a biggie, but since I always apply my lippy straight from the tube I'm this close to just cutting off the edges to give it a more traditional lipstick shape.

Here's a quick makeup look to show you how the foundation looks. As I mentioned, it is slightly too light for my skin tone so I'll have to designate this to the winter (thus, paler) foundation stash.
