Ding Dong, Avon calling

When I got my first proper grown up job I used to work with a girl who did Avon on the side. Each month she'd come around with the latest Avon catalogue and we'd sit around the lunchroom and write our orders down. Then a fortnight later my little Avon haul (not that I called it a haul back then, I wasn't into this whole beauty blogging lingo back then!) would arrive. I mainly ordered lipsticks. Surprise, surprise. Then when I moved on from that work place I lost touch with my Avon lady and never actually found another one so no more Avon for me... until I was sent a generous package by them.

The products that I gravitated towards were of course the lipsticks. Yeah yeah, I'm predictable, I know! The 2 colours I'm showing you today are my absolute favourite of the Ultra Color range which contains a total of 18 shades (which you can see HERE). They're both very creamy, very pigmented and while their lasting power isn't exactly the best they feel so great on that you won't mind reapplying.
L/R: Very Violet and Hibiscus

Very Violet is a soft violet purple which is quite similar to MAC Up The Amp but not as purple.

Hibiscus is a bright warm pink which leans towards coral/red, quite similar to MAC Impassioned but not as red.

These lipsticks are around $22 AUD and you can get them from your Avon rep (you can track down a rep through their website HERE)

Have you bought anything from Avon before? Do you like the range?

  2. Both shades look amazing, I'm loving Hibiscus in particular! I don't think I've tried that many Avon products...it's kinda hard finding someone who works for them! Plus, with my colouring, I like swatching it before buying!

  3. I'm a Violet girl but the Hibiscus also looks beautiful on you! I haven't bought anything from Avon for ages... probably last time it was when I was in Russia, in 2006. They do some nice make up and skin care though.
