Take a sip of Bite Beauty’s High Pigment Matte Pencil in Amarone

Hi lovelies, today's post is from Nicole who blogs over at Bagful of Notions. She'd kindly sent this post in for publishing while I was away on my European holiday but somehow the scheduled posting didn't work so I'm now finally hitting the publish button. Over to you Nicole!

I have a slight infatuation with Bite Beauty, a Canadian lippie brand that looks good and is good for you. Velvet was my first taste and then came Zinfandel – the creamy, matte finish left me wanting to try every other colour Bite Beauty has on tap.
Bite Beauty High Pigment Matte Pencil in Amarone
Amarone stands for “the great bitter” in Italian and also happens to be a highly favoured northern Italian wine. Keeping with the wine theme, Amarone’s colour is described as “raisin berry”.  And what about the finish? It isn’t as matte as its counterparts, I definitely get more of a semi-glossy stain on my lips

As much as I love Amarone, it’s certainly not without its faults. If your lips are even the slightest bit dry, the darker colour will most certainly accentuate any flakes. Lesson learned: scrub your pout prior to application.
Another negative is I don’t get as much longevity out of Amarone like I did with Zinfandel and Velvet – touchups are imminent. Lesson learned: Don’t leave home without it.

Sometimes you have to take the good with the bad. With that said, the colour and feel will keep me coming back for more.

Want a lil’ Bite in your life?

Check out Sephora for all your Bite needs in the US and Canada.
Live in Australia? Klein’s Perfumery has a limited selection on their website. I prefer to visit their Fitzroy store, I can get lost in there for hours. Be sure to give T.C. a scratch if you see him. Great Earth Super Discount Health Shop in Melbourne even stocks Bite Beauty – a little secret, their prices are on par with Sephora.

AUTHOR BIO
Nicole is an ex-pat who moved from Eastern Massachusetts to Melbourne, Australia in late 2010. Her love for makeup began at the ripe age of five-years-old when she happened upon her mother’s Clinique electric blue eyeliner. Makeup counters later became hallowed grounds during her college days, as she would peruse the counters before commuting home from a long day in class. When Nicole isn’t tinkering with makeup brushes and powders, you can usually find her galavanting all over Melbourne’s CBD, searching for the next best ballet flat or building up her foodie profile with her husband Scott. In addition to her blog, she can also be found via twitter and instagram.
