Maybelline Color Whisper swatches, photos & review

Recently I was sent a lovely package by Maybelline (you might have seen it on my Instagram), and it contained their Color Whisper lip range. Today I'm showing you 4 of my favourites from the range. No prizes for guessing they're all in the pink/purple family! I'm that predictable!

A little bit about the Colour Whisper range
They're a gel colour and feel absolutely weightless on your lips. They're very moisturising, but they don't last long on the lips at all. Think of it more as a coloured lip balm rather than a lipstick. And yes, they're very similar to the Revlon lip butters. I love the candy smell of this lip range, and the choice of colours is good too (lots of colours from pale nudes to bright reds). They'e RRP $14.95 AUD.

Swatches, left to right are:
- Pink Possibilities - a creamy warm pink that leans a bit coral, more pigmented than the above two.
- Oh La Lilac - a sheer blu based lilac that swatches lighter than it appears in the tube.
Petal Rebel - very pale pastel pink, adds just a dash of colour to the lips.
- Mad for Magenta - mid toned sheer plum, very wearable and the most pigmented of the lot

Let's look at some lip swatches shall we?

Final words
These aren't the type of lipsticks you'd wear to the boardroom (no, you need a matte-power lip for that), but you would wear these on holidays or for every day where when you just want a hint of colour.

Have you tried the Color Whisper range from Maybelline yet? Do you like these types of formula on your lipsticks or do you prefer a more pigmented finish?

  1. I bought Pink Possibilites the other week and I'm liking it! Good for lazy days. Plus, it feels nice and hydrating. Though it's probably not... haha

I want to get the lilac and magenta ones! I actually couldn't decide between the three when I was at Priceline. Was so tough. haha x

  2. I clicked on this because I saw purple! Like you, I'm a sucker for anything purple! Alas, all of it are too sheer for my liking.

I'm not a fan of tinted stuff whether it's lippies or foundation. My motto is, go all out or go home! Lol.

This would be great for the less daring or people who prefer the subtle looks.... I think I will pass on these
