Femme Boulevard #3 - Daytime Smokey Eye

The July edition of Femme Boulevard (yes, we're a week late!) is all about the smokey eye, or more specifically the daytime smokey eye.

Normally if I'm doing a smokey eye during the day I tend to chooser lighter shades, e.g. choosing grey instead of black, and concentrate the colour on my top lid leaving the bottom lid bare. This eye look I have on today is very simple and is also pretty much what I do most days.

I'm wearing a wash of shimmery grey (Dior Mono Fusion eyeshadow in Millenium*) all over my top lid with black liquid liner (Dipliner Waterproof) slightly winged, concentrating on the outer half of my eye. I also used a matte neutral shade (Makeup Geek Latte) to blend it all into place and a creamy shade (Makeup Geek Vanilla Bean) on my brow bone. I finished with 3 coats of L'Oreal Voluminous mascara in Carbon black.

Here are a couple of close ups of the eyes.

Because my eyes were fairly neutral I decided to do a bright lip. I'm wearing OCC Lip tar in Pageant.

The rest of the makeup used is MAC Studio Sculpt Foundation in NC25, dusted with MAC MSFN Natural in Medium. On my cheeks I'm wearing Tarte Amazonian Clay blush in Dollface.
And don't forget to check out how the other members of Femme Boulevard did their daytime smokey eyes.

What do you think of this daytime smokey eye? Is it something you wear all the time too?

    1. Thanks hun, I felt a bit too bare with the softer eyes so needed that bright lip to balance things out! xx
