A long awaited date night and FOTD

Last night the husband went out on a date night. The last time we went out to dinner without our little boy was 4 months ago and it ended in a frantic phone call to us that he wasn't sleeping and was screaming the house down, so we ended up rushing home to relieve my poor mum who was babysitting. Ever since then we've taken Luca out with us whenever we've gone out to dinner, and some nights it's been good, some... eh... not so good. Lets just say a 1 year old and restaurants don't always mix well.

Anyway we decided we needed some time to ourselves, so mum came over to babysit again. I'm pleased to say all went well, Luca slept pretty much the whole time we were out, and the husband and I had some much needed time to ourselves.
Photo taken with flash - it was too dark otherwise.

I kept my makeup fairly simple, just touching up what I was already wearing and darkening the colours. On my face I had on Illamasqua Skinbase foundation in #8 with Maybelline SuperStay 24H powder in Sand* on top. On my cheeks I was wearing Illamasqua Naked Rose.  On my eyes I was wearing Makeup Geek eyeshadows in Cocoa Bear (lid) and Vanilla Bean (highlight, brow bone), lined with Jordana black eyeliner and finished with Maybelline Mega Plush mascara* in Blackest Black. On my lips I had on MAC Pink Nouveau.

We went to our favourite little Italian place, Vespa in Gladesville, Sydney.

For starters we had the Piatta Del Pittore (painter's palette) - a mix of dips with toasted ciabatta bread. (PS: you'll have to excuse the grainy iPhone pics that follow)
Our starter - Piatta del Pittore

I had the Spaghetti Sirene (spaghetti with seafood in chilli garlic oil). I love my seafood, so wherever we go if there's seafood on the menu you can bet your bottom dollar that's what I'll be ordering.
My main meal

The husband had the Gnocchi with mushrooms and truffle oil.

And for dessert it was a shared White Chocolate Creme Brûlée and a machiatto each. When I say shared, I mean I had the strawberry and the husband had the creme brulee. LOL.

It was lovely to go out with just the husband, even though we did spend most of the evening talking about our little boy.
