Friday's letters #3

Emmy Rossum at the 2013 Met Ball in NY

Dear Emmy Rossum,
Oh my goodness... Your eye makeup at the 2013 Met Ball was immaculate. You ditched the girl next door look and brought out your inner Sopha Loren. Va va voom.

Dear woman at the cafe who ordered a weak decaf mocha with 3 sugars.
Really? Call yourself a coffee drinker?

Dear Paris
Me again, I know I wrote to you last week. Well guess what? We are coming for a visit in a few months time. And we are bringing our little dragon with us, who will be just over a year old by then. Besides doing some site seeing I also plan on visiting Sephora... a lot. So I hope you're looking forward to seeing us again as much as we're looking forward to our visit.

Dear Australis cosmetics
Since when did you become one of the most re-purchased brands for me? In the last week I repurchased your longwear lipstick in Preppy, Curve Ink Eyeliner, and Voluptulash mascara. And they weren't even on sale! All I will say is, keep up the great work!

Dear Kim Kardashian
I didn't want to say anything, I really didn't. But I couldn't help it, I'm only human. There are so many gorgeous maternity clothes out there so why do you insist on wearing unflattering clothes that do nothing for that baby bump? Please fire your stylist and turn to your sister Kourtney who has done the whole pregnancy thing with style, twice!

Dear cinemas,
We haven't been to see a movie there in, oh I don't know, over a year. But we will come back. I promise. It's just that with the whole sleep deprivation thing we got going at the moment thanks to the baby, we're worried that as soon as we go into the darkened cinema hall we might fall asleep. But we'll be back. One day.

  3. Hey- I'm going to be in Paris for a few days over european summer this year? I've been a few times and done all the touristy things so I'm planning on spending most of my time there shopping and drinking coffee while people watching :) I'm thinking of staying in the 5th or 6th- any shopping tips around that area?

    1. Oh last time we were there we stayed near the 6th, lovely area. You have to go to Rue Mouffetard which is in the 6th... or maybe 5th? it's a gorgeous long cobblestone street full of shops (clothes, accessories, food) plus restaurants and cafes so is good for people watching. Apart from that there's a street in front of their Pantheon, I forget the name, that one had a lot of high street fashion. I need to read up on shopping again as I don't remember much at all!

  4. Awwwww I feel bad for Kim. Apparently everything hurts and she's not having a comfortable pregnancy. She's probably just trying to hang on to her former stylish self, and finding it hard to embrace her bump... :(

    1. I feel bad too coz I do like her, but I would think with the whole everything-hurts-thing she'd want to wear more comfortable (and stylish!) clothes rather than squeez herself into tight non-mat clothes. I say embrace the bump, it's the only time that you can go around without sucking in your stomach and still look good :)

  11. I love, love, love this format. That way you get to talk about things you want to talk but a kind of outside of your blog subject. I was thinking for AGEEEEESSSS how to do some kind of posts that would allow me to do that (working title is "sunday thoughts") but your letters are just brilliant! xx
