And God Created The Woman

When I first saw pictures of this palette by NARS floating about the internet I knew I had to have it. As this palette wasn't available in Australia (not sure if it will even arrive here as it's meant to be a Sephora exclusive), I resorted to ebay. I know, I know, I did pay a lot for it but did I mention I had to have it? The kit comes with a small brush and a small tube of eye primer but seriously I would have gotten this even if it didn't come with these add ones.

The palette itself is quite small, but contains 6 wearable shades.

Alhambra - metallic rose gold
Bellisima - matte dove grey
Kalahari - metallic golden bonze
Galapagos - matte chocolate infused with gold flecks
Coconut Grove - matte dark brown
Night Clubbing - black with gold flecks

All the colours are beautifully pigmented, however Coconut Grove and Night Clubbing apply chalky. It's no big deal though as those are very dark colours which I'll most likely use as a liner so it doesn't matter that they don't blend as easily.

Is it a must have palette? I would say no. The colours aren't unique and you can get dupes for it from many cheaper brands. But oh it's a very convenient palette to have all the right colours and textures in the one place. It's the absolute perfect travel palette if you're a fan of neutral shades. I'll post some looks with this palette soon, but in the meantime have a look at the gorgeous brown smokey eye that Ela has done HERE.

And of course you can't talk about this palette without at least a quick mention of the classic Bridgitte Bardot film of the same name. This is a sultry and sexy palette, exactly what someone like Bardot would wear.

What do you think of this palette?
Do you like the colours or are you tired of neutral palettes?

Update: This palette is available at Mecca Cosmetica / Mecca Maxima in Australia. Thanks Cherie for letting me know!

  4. I stopped in and checked this out because online it looked amazing. I found it to be small for the price. I also thought the colors in person were warmer than online (I'm very fair and prefer cooler tones). But I'm glad you liked it! Personally I can't get enough neutrals.

    1. It is very very small, I didn't expect it to be so tiny! But maybe it means for once I'll get to finish a palette! :)

  5. Hey there :)
I know what you mean, I have been lusting after this palette but don't think I can justify the purchase!
I think I've seen it available at Mecca Cosmetica btw as well if you wanted to know, I was worried it wasn't going to be coming to Australia either

    1. I'm glad it's available here now as well, I heard it's around $100. I definitely can't justify spending that much either as that's a lot of money on a tiny palette, but it was a bit cheaper on ebay so I don't mind. xx

  6. It's not available in the Philippines either, but like you, I knew the moment I saw it that I had to have it. So after jumping through hoops and stuff, I finally got my hands on it and I love it :D I actually brought it on a trip already and it was such a great thing to have!

    xx Carina

  8. Beautiful palette. But what from NARS isn't? lol.

I do love my neutrals but I think the 'neutral palette' fad is way too overdone now.

    1. Oh you're so right, everyone is doing neutrals now! But you know what, I don't mind as I love my neutrals and as you said anything from NARS is beautiful! :)

  9. The eyeshadow shades are so lovely. I am still debating on whether or not I should indulge in this palette. I know that I have loads of similar colors like these but, I can never resist pretty neutrals :)

    1. I don't think it's a must have as the colours are very similar to a lot of other palettes, mainly UD naked/naked2 but it's a great sized palette to have around for travel and things. xo

  11. Aw such a beautiful palette!! On all my recent trips to sephora I pick it up and put it down undecided if I need it! The swatches are gorgeous, but I do agree there are cheaper dupes available. What do you think of the eye primer? This is also something on my wish list? I've read a lot of good reviews but don't know if its anybetter then UD Primer potion or MAC paint pots! x

    1. You know I wasn't that big a fan of the primer. I'm not a huge primer user anyway, but when I used this I found the eyeshadows went on patchier than without priming first. The UD primer is definitely much better in my opinion, but it might depend on your eyelids as well, e.g. how oily/dry they are. xo
