FOTD with purple eyeshadow

This morning, bored of my neutral greys and browns I decided to pull my coloured eyeshadows out of hiding and MAC Parfait Amour caught my eye. I love purple eyeshadow, but it's been ages since I've actually worn it. You see the thing is, if you're not careful purple can make your eyes look very tired and red. Basically it's not the sort of shade that I gravitated towards as a sleep deprived new mumma. But, the trick to wearing purple without looking like you haven't slept in yonks is to keep the colour only on the top lash line.
Due to my eye shape you can hardly see the purple, but trust me it's there!

Here is how I wore it, being careful to keep the lower lashline as clean as possible so as not to make myself look more tired than I am.

Here is what I used for the entire face.

Face
  • Girlee Cosmetics cream foundation in Medium - I bought this from IMATS last year and unfortunately this is only available to buy at trade shows or through wholesale if you have a business. Pity, because I love this foundation.
  • The Makeup Store powder foundation in Stockholm
  • Illamasqua blush in Naked Rose

Eyes
  • NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk - I wore this all over the lid as I find that it gives a good base for coloured eyeshadows, it makes the colours more vibrant and long lasting
  • MAC e/s in Parfait Amour - all over lid
  • MAC e/s in Shale - blended around the crease
  • Inglot e/s in #29 - brow bone
  • Australis Curve Ink eyeliner in black - click HERE for my review
  • Covergirl Lash Blast Fusion mascara in blackest black - click HERE for my review

Lips
  • Styli-Style lipliner in Monte Carlo
  • MAC lipstick in Creme Cup

What do you think of this look? Do you wear coloured eyeshadows or do you stick to your neutrals?

  1. You look lovely, Lilit! I need to give that Australis eyeliner a go. I was sent it recently to try out but I'm so lazy when it comes to eyeliner, I very rarely use it. Then I see your posts and it looks so amazing on you so I need to get my act together and use it!

    1. You should use it babe, it's actually surprisingly easy to use! Or to make it even easier, draw your line with black pencil liner first THEN use the liquid liner on top. xo

    1. Oh you're only a few steps away from purple now! Just buy a cheapo purple shade (maybe BYS?) to try it out, if you don't like it then you haven't wasted too much money at least! xo

  5. Lilit, you look gorgeous as usual and good on you for bringing back the purple! I can also recommend Estee Lauders single eye shadow in number 3 (a-m-a-z-i-n-g) and their violet pallet which offers highlighting and all over eye colours!
