Natural Sculpted FOTD - inspired by Illamasqua for Myer AW 2012

The Myer Autumn/Winter 2012 collection was launched last week in Melbourne, with the models' makeup created by Illamasqua. They even flew in international makeup artist Clare Lille to do the makeup.

One of my favourite looks that she created was the "Natural Sculpted Look", face chart below. It features contoured eyes and cheeks, with matte defined lips and minimal colour on the cheeks. If you're familiar with Illamasqua, this look is quite different from the bold looks normally associated with the brand. And of course me being so in love with all things Illamasqua, I just had to recreate it!

Here is what it looked like on the models - simple, defined and elegant.

Here's my interpretation.

I didn't have any of the actual products used in the show, but upon raiding my Illamasqua collection I found quite a few shades that were similar enough and would work well for this look.

Face
Maybelline Dream Liquid Mousse Foundation in Nude
MAC Mineralize MSFN Powder in Medium

Cheeks
Illamasqua Blush in Disobey - used as contour
Illamasqua Blush in Ambition - very lightly used on apples of cheeks for some colour

Eyes
Illamasqua e/s in Slink - lid, inner corner and highlight
Illamasqua e/s in Jules - crease and outer V area. I also used this colour on my eyebrows.
Maybelline Gel Eyeliner in Blackest Black
Maybelline Great Lash Lots of Lashes in Blackest Black

Lips
Styli Style lipliner in Monte Carlo - a pinkish purple used to define my lips
Illamasqua cream colour pigment in Hollow - dabbed on lips with my finger

For my hair, I just put it up in a messy bun just like in the show, and randomly twisted and pinned me fringe away from my face.

Hope you liked the look, but before I leave... here's a sneak peek at their new collection which will be in stores globally on 15th March 2012. I absolutely love the colours, so stay tuned as no doubt I'll be hauling some of these shades once they're released.

  5. Ok, first of all- you should wear your hair in a bun more often, it really suits you! Secondly: oh hun, I'm mesmerized by the eye makeup! Somehow it manages to look "clean"/natural AND a bit smokey!!!

    1. Aaw thanks hun, it was messy second day hair so it was easier to put in a bun than do anything else. And the eye look was fairly simple, just used the two colours and blended. xo
