I am now 22 weeks pregnant! The baby is somewhere around 450gr (then what on earth is the deal with my 7kg weight gain so far?! Time to ease off the cheesecakes!) and he measures around 28cm.
I can feel the little peanut move all the time, which is nice yet still somewhat freaky! At the moment it feels more ticklish than anything, but I have been told his punches will start to hurt when he's a bit bigger.
I am well and truly showing now. The other day while buying fruit the lady behind the counter even asked me, very concerned, whether I'd be ok to carry the bags (you know, in my delicate state and all). Of course I was ok! I had 3 mangoes in one bag and a kilo of peaches in the other. Oh and some figs.
I'm feeling better than ever and energy levels are back to (almost) normal. My only complaint at the moment is the rib/muscle pain I'm feeling just under my left breastbone. It's as a result of my big fat belly pushing everything else up in my rib cage. The pain is just bad if I've been sitting down for too long, i.e. at work, in front of a computer! But when I get up and walk around, or lay down, the pain disappears.
In other, non-pregnancy news, I've started to pay attention to my lipglosses again. After completely ignoring them in the last year in favour of lipsticks, I've rediscovered the joys of layering glosses. I usually hate the sticky feeling of glosses, but my current favourite combo is not sticky at all. Here it is.
They are Barry M Pinkie Gold Sparkle (full review post HERE) topped with Designer Brands lipgloss in Cool Sangria. It gives my lips a hint of colour without looking over the top.
You look so lovely :D Love the new lip combo and looking forward to tomorrows post x
ReplyDeleteThanks so much :-)
DeleteI'm absolutely loving the lippies in tomorrow's post. Can't wait to post it!
You look amazing Lilit!! Loving the bump updates xo
ReplyDeleteThanks Hannah! xo
DeleteOmg!! :D I'm taking a childcare course right now and oh my, children are so cute! I don't even know how I disliked them so much before!
ReplyDeleteAnyways, a cute story I thought I'd share that my teacher told me.. When she was so many weeks pregnant (I'm not exactly sure), but once she was just chillin' around at home. Her husband, who was working on some home maintenance, suddenly dropped a tool on the floor, making a loud BANG! She said she could actually feel the baby inside jump! Cutee!
And also, my teacher taught me that talking to a baby belly will help the baby be familiar with your voice. So when the baby is born and placed in on the hospital beds, he/she will be looking for someone that they feel close to and can trust. So pay attention to their face once they recognise your voice in the area!
Kay, enough about the baby talk.. Hahaha.. sorry to bombard you with that :P I was just so excited.
On another note, looking forward to your post tomorrow!!

Aaww I've heard that as well that they can hear loud noises and react to it. Today I had hot curry for dinner and I swear I could feel him punching me from the inside because it was prob too chilli for his tiny little tastebuds. Oh well, he needs to get used to all kinds of foods so he doesn't become a fussy eater.

Your 'baby happiness' is really just infectious. :D That woman in the grocery store was really kind to you - I'm not even sure everyone stands up for a pregnant lady on a bus anymore! Btw, I spot a Viva Glam Nicki ;)
ReplyDeleteI am yet to test if people would stand up for me on public transport. I normally drive to work, and the couple of times I've caught a train/bus they've been fairly empty so I couldn't put the theory to the test.
DeleteYep, you're right! It is a Viva Glam Nicki :-)
I'm just so excited for you! I love babies and pregnant women are just beautiful :) Lovely lip combo! xx from italy!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much hun, xo
DeleteYou look gorgeous Lilit - don't worry about the cheesecake! I'm glad to hear you're back onto gloss. I've been wearing so much gloss I'm just about eating it lately :)
ReplyDeleteI replaced the cheesecake with low fat ice cream tonight... still tastes yummy :-)
DeleteMaybe it's coz it's colder here and the wind is giving me chapped lips, but either way lip glosses seem to work now.
Such a pretty lip look! I'm starting to love gloss again too.
ReplyDeleteAnd Lilit, you look so beautiful! I'm so excited for you :) This just amazing!

Ummm I don't think you have to worry about those 7 kgs, it doesn't show at all!
ReplyDeleteSo happy to hear you're doing great so far- I admit I'm so scared with being pregrant, so your positive updates are so encouraging!!! xx
Oh I'm not too worried about the 7kgs as I eat mainly healthy except for the occasional sweets. I can worry about losing the weight later!
DeleteAnd trust me, at times I'm freaked out scared too but then you feel the little baby move inside and there's nothing to be scared about. Women have been doing this for millions of years and will do it for millions more! xo
You are a gorgeous mom-to-be! You are lucky that you don't look like you have gained the weight...only in the belly. And that lip combo is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI can feel the difference in my face a bit too, but hey, it's all nutrients for the baby! :-)
