FOTD with just ONE eyeshadow

Lately I've been getting sooo lazy with my makeup, that I've been trying to find shortcuts and do the bare minimum with maximum impact... or as I like to tell myself, I'm practicing for when the baby is here and I'll hardly have time to brush my hair let alone do elaborate eye makeup looks.
On nails - Butter London Trout Pout

My favourite eyeshadow to wear the last few weeks (and I kid you not, I've been wearing this eye look almost every day for the last 3 weeks or so) is Inglot eyeshadow in #502. It's actually a perfect colour to wear on its own as once you blend it out it has enough dimension to make it look like you have other colours with it.

It's a matte greyish taupe with purple undertones. It has tiny little glitter particles in it which keeps the matte shadow from looking too flat. I normally apply a bit of black eyeliner first, then using a flat brush apply Inglot e/s in #502 all over the lid blending it above the lid.

The rest of the makeup is...

FACE
MAC Studio Sculpt Foundations in NC25 and NW25 mixed (review HERE)
MAC MSFN in Medium
Benefit Hoola to contour (review HERE)
Tarte Amazonian Clay blush in Dollface (review HERE)

EYES
Inglot eyeshadow in #502
Jordana Color Extend eyeliner in Black
Maybelline Volume Express One by One in Blackest Black (review coming soon)

LIPS
Rimmel lipstick in Pink Blush (review HERE)
MAC Lipglass in Dreamy

What eyeshadows do you wear on their own?

  2. Love grey/taupe shades.. I'd wear that too ^^ I'd also go for either taupey/gray shade .. or just a fine shimmer pearl shade.

    1. Taupey/greys are my favourite.. I have my eye on NARS Lhasa which seems the perfect taupey/grey/purple, I bet it would be easy to wear on its own.

  4. Wow, one shadow colour only? It looks great & that colour looks kinda like a not so glittery, matte & grayer version of the chanel pot eyeshadow in purple! (can't remember the name, illusoire? Ombre D'illusion or something?) That's what I thought you had actually used before I started reading :) I must say, your smile is very endearing & infectious! Simply beautiful.

    1. Oh I think I know which chanel one you mean... nah, too stingy to spend $50 on a single shadow! LOL. And thanks re the smile :-)

  5. Beautiful look! My favourite shadow for a one shade look is Illamasqua Ore. It seems to highlight and contour my eyes with no effort at all on my part!

  7. Your makeup always looks flawless. I've started using the new maybelline color tattoo cream shadow in tough as taupe with the l'oreal infallible shadow in sultry smoke. They're bautiful together and quality products that I think you'd like if you haven't already tried them!

  9. So very pretty! Will have to check that shade out. I often wear my Shiro neutral shades by themselves, and any holo sort of shade goes well for that sort of thing as well

  11. My favorite eyeshadow color to wear on it's own is Silk Teddy by Too Faced. It's the perfect shimmery champaign color to throw on in a hurry and it goes well with every makeup look. Plus it doesn't require much blending!

    Great post!

  12. I love that eyeshadow color - I'm adding it to my wishlist for sure.

My favorite one-sweep eyeshadow color is Urban Decay Smog - the perfect bronze.

  15. What a beautiful smoky grey. I love how you've paired the look with the silver necklace; it really makes it complete! Now that you mention solo eyeshadows, I don't think I've worn that many alone lately. The couple that I can recall from recently are NARS Lhasa and Urban Decay bootycall.

  16. You look radiant Lilit! I wear MAC Shroom or Maybelline Silken Taupe as single shades when I'm feeling lazy. Weird coincidence alert - my basic face post is scheduled for tomorrow!

  17. I've been using Maybelline Color Tattoo in Bad to the Bronze. It's so pigmented and if you are in a rush, you don't need anything else on your lid!
