Models Prefer - Highlighter, Bronzer and Blush review

Last week I had a lovely surprise in the mail... a huge package of goodies from Models Prefer.  They had seen my previous review of their eyeshadow duo and liquid liner, and had sent me some more products to try. I really think it was incredibly generous of them, and I truly appreciate the opportunity to try more of their products and review them for you.

I'll be spreading out my review over a few posts, as I don't want to overload you with so much product information. Today I'll be concentrating on the cheek products, my favourites of the lot.

L-R: Highlighter in Glitz & Glamour, Blush in Desk to Date, Bronzer in Million Bucks

Models Prefer Highlighter Quad in Glitz & Glamour - $9.99AUD

What can I say that you can't already see from the swatches above. It's crazily pigmented, with gorgeous colours, whether you look at them individually or swirled together. I can't believe that this is only $9.99 as the quality and lasting power is just amazing. If blended lightly you can wear this over your regular blush to add a lovely highlight. Or you can use a heavier hand and swirl from the top half of the pan (the darker half) to give both colour and shine to the cheeks.

Models Prefer Bronzer Quad in Million Bucks - $9.99

I love the colours in this quad a lot. This is of course meant to be a bronzer, but I see no reason why you can't use the colours as eyeshadows. I mean, look a the swatches above, don't you think they are perfect for a shimmery golden eye look? This quad too has incredible pigmentation. If I had to find fault with this, I'd say it's too shimmery as a bronzer but with a light hand this can give a lovely glow to tanned (fake) cheeks.

Models Prefer Blush in Desk to Date - $9.99

This is a lovely warm toned rose-pink that gives cheeks a healthy glow. Just like the other two products this is very pigmented. In fact probably too pigmented, so you'd have to be careful unless you want an extra rosey cheek. It's really soft and blends like a dream.

Overall thoughts
All three products are extremely pigmented and finely milled. At $9.99 each these are great value that you can't pass up on, especially since these are decent sized products. Unlike other budget brands, the packaging is elegant and sturdy. Would I purchase these? YES.

I'll be ending this post with a mini conversation I just had with the husband.

The Husband: what are you doing?
Me: Reviewing the Models Prefer goodies
TH: Are they good?
Me: Yep, can't find fault with them.
TH: Can't be that good?
Me: Yep, they can.

* Models Prefer is available exclusively at Priceline stores in Australia only. I did not get paid to write this review. In fact I was not even asked to write this review. My opinions as always are honest.

Have you tried anything from this range yet?

  6. I have all the cheek products from Models Prefer and LOVE them!! I still have to keep reminding myself to be careful not to over load the brush though because they're so pigmented.

You should try the blush 'Beauty Adict' its a really pretty plum colour with flecks of gold through it.

  10. LOVE my Models Prefer stuff. Bought both the blushers (Desk to Date and Beauty Addict) and am very impressed with them. I wish they had more colours but both these suit my olive skin - I'd love to see a more coral based tone and a pure "barbie" kind of pink. I don't own any Illamasqua or NARS but I read your reviews and I think these must give them a run for your money, particularly when you take price and availability in Australia into consideration. They are very pigmented, so I am careful not to look like a clown :)
I also have two eye liners of theirs - basically I saw they had two types so chose a colour in each to try out. Again for the price you can hardly go wrong. I was very pleased with them. I got a smoldering brown retractable eye liner and a pewter grey kohl pencil. Both have smudge tips on the other end and work very well. I am now resolved to go to Priceline tomorrow and get the highlighter quad and maybe whatever else of theirs that takes my fancy since they've proven themselves to be great products.
Can't wait to see your reviews of their other products. Thanks for some great swatches and blog update. xx

  11. The end conversation was funny! :)

I agree, the bronzer looks perfect for a gorgeous golden eye look!

I wish we got their stuff here!

  12. @Y - unfortunately at the moment this is only available in Australia... hope they branch out soon!

@Kath - I'm so glad you like their products, sounds like you have a lot of their stuff. I continue to be amazed at how good this brand is for the price you pay. And the blush does give my illamasquas and nars a run for their money both in terms of pigmentation and longevity.

@Vintage - fingers crossed they might branch out to other countries!

  13. Very pretty, I'd definitely use the brown/bronze ones as eyeshadows. I love the pigmentation, I never see models prefer at my Priceline but I'm probably just oblivious. xo

Actually haven't delved into the makeup yet, just bought a stack of brushes. Must check it out!

  15. Oh, I've always wanted to give this brand a go each time I go into Priceline, but I'm yet to actually do it. However, I will now, after reading your reviews, so thanks for sharing! Xx

  18. @Crosswire Dreamers - it's only recently that they've put up new stands at Priceline, so keep an eye out for them.

@Suzanne - I used their small eyeshadow brush, love it!

@e.xX - you def should try, if you like BYS you will definitely LOVE this range.

@Lily - yep keep an eye out, once you swatch them you'll love it.

  19. Sorry, didn't realise what I wrote earlier would be so long! Bought the highlighter quad today, another eyeliner, a lip liner and lipstick. Then got home... was playing makeup and dropped my Models Prefer blush - smash... pigment all over the floor... ruined. *sigh* Lucky it didn't cost me big bucks - at least it gives me an excuse to go back to Priceline.

  20. Something insanely sad happened and this post didn't show up in my feed. Tragedy!

But you mentioned it in your latest post so here I am. :)

I really really like these swatches. Even the sparkle doesn't bother me one bit!

  21. @Kath - on no, your poor blush! If you've saved enough of the pigment you know you can just press it again with that Isocol thing. But hey, if you're looking for another excuse to go to Priceline then throw that broken blush in the bin and off to Priceline you go.

@Eden - weird, I've been hearding people having problems again with blogger blogs not showing on feeds. Hope Blogger's not acting up again. And they are great colours aren't they, crazily pigmented, crazily!

  22. Okay promise this is the last post on this blog update... had a great idea to reinvent my blush. I have a pot of loose mineral powder blush not too dissimilar in colour, that's only got about 1/4 left - I'm going to chuck the clumps of broken blush in with that one and make a new colour. Went and bought a new one today, oh and some eyeshadows and finishing powder. My name is Kathy and I'm a makeup addict.

  23. I've noticed that Models Prefer are really expanding their line but I still haven't plunged in and bought anything from the brand yet but these products look fantastic and at $9.95 you can't go wrong

  24. Do you know how many times I have picked up MP stuff only to be 'sensible' and put it down again? The days of being sensible are over after seeing these swatches lol.
