Holiday nails - My Lifesaver by Nicole by O.P.I

Everyone knows that going on holidays means bright nailpolish! Ok, maybe not everyone knows that... like I don't think my mechanic would know that. Or my dentist. Or even my 3yr old niece. Actually no, my 3yr old fashionista niece would probably know that. So anyway, every beauty addict knows that holidays means bright nailpolish!

My Lifesaver - Nicole by OPI

So when I was planning on what colour to paint my nails before going to Vanuatu I wanted something that would look great when worn with my favourite turquoise print summer dress, sipping cocktails in front of the blue waters of the Pacific, something pretty much like this!
Yep, this is pretty much the scene I had in mind!

The colour is called My Lifesaver from the Nicole by OPI range, and I absolutely adore it. It reminds me a lot of China Glaze For Audrey which is another polish that I love, but I don't mind having bought this possible dupe. I bought this for $14.95 from a pharmacy in Sydney Domestic Airport, and unfortunately besides that particular shop I've never seen them elsewhere.

You get pretty good coverage with 2 coats, like I've got in the pics, but 3 coats is needed to get a fully opaque cover. What I love about this polish is that it lasts and lasts. I painted my nails with this just before we went away on holidays for the week, and this lasted on my nails the whole time plus more. Eight days in total.

Here are a few shots where I decided to get arty at the beach...

This pic below is from our last day of the holidays... you can see that the polish is still nicely intact though it does look a bit duller due to the wear.

Matchy matchy - matching my earrings

Have you tried anything from the Nicole by OPI range? What nailpolish colours do you like for holidays?

  2. Hahaha, you are right! Holiday either means crazy nail color, or crazy nail art! :)
    The photos are great btw.
I don't know why, but I haven't had good experiences with OPI. Maybe because they take a tad longer to dry and I'm an impatient slob? Could be. Impressive longetivity with this one :)

  6. @Vita - it's very very close to For Audrey, I'll have to do a dupes post on it. This is a tad lighter than the China Glaze one.

    @Kelly - thanks you!

@Y - I'm not a big OPI fan either tell you the truth, but this Nicole by OPI range seems to have different formula, it's less gluggy and it's also cheaper. China Glaze polishes are by far my favourites.

@Eye Graffiti - thank you! It's exactly the colour I had in mind for the holidays!

@Veronica - I love how it lasts so long, brush and forget.

  8. You can get a lot of Nicole/OPI from various shops around China town. The fashion shops as well as the chemists all sell it in Sydney. It's a lot cheaper than normal OPI.

  14. @Sarah S. - LOL, yes it is weird that you think that! But I suppose I can see it look somewhat tacky on certain blonde shades.

@Saumya - thanks hun, and I'm sure the radiance is just sweat from the heat!

  15. Your nails always give my nails an inferiority complex. I agree with everyone though - it's a very cool shade and it seems to be perfect for what you needed.
