Wet n Wild 8 pan palette Comfort Zone: review and swatches

I'd never tried any of the eyeshadows from the Wet n Wild range before, and having read so many rave reviews about this budget brand I thought I'd give it a try. I bought the 8 pan palette in Comfort Zone from Crush Cosmetics, which arrived on my doorstep 2 days after I paid for it (love a speedy delivery!).

All of the colours are absolutely gorgeous, and very pigmented.

They are all labelled with the area of the eye that each colour should be applied to, e.g. browbone, crease, but of course you don't have to follow those guidelines and can use it however you like.

The left side of the palette is made up of warm browny tones that work well together. The Eyelid colour especially is just stunning.

The right side of the palette is made up of greenish brown tones. The Browbone colour looks exactly like MAC Vex, and the Definer colour seems very similar to MAC Club. I will have to do a dupe post soon to compare these, as I can see some dupes for Urban Decay colours as well. Tell you the truth I'm a little bit scared of the Definer colour... it's got a reddish base with green shimmer on it. I don't know how to wear it, and how it would look on the eye. I'll have to play around with it and let you know.

The consistency is similar to the Sleek eyeshadows, in that they're not too tightly packed so feel a bit fragile. And there is fallout with some of the colours so you need to be careful when applying. Overall it's not a bad palette, the colours are gorgeous and the price is very reasonable. In Australia it retails for $14.95AUD in Crush Cosmetics, and I know it's way cheaper than that in the US.

Have you tried anything from the Wet n Wild range? What are some of your favourites from them?

  5. I absolutely love this palette. Wet n Wild has stepped up their game by so much with this batch of shadows. They are very long lasting (at least on me) and super smooth and pigmented. Hope you love yours as much as I love mines :)

  9. Wow! Those swatches look gorgeously pigmented. I love that it tells you which area of the eye the colours are made to be applied to - think this would be a great palette for beginner make up junkies! Never tried any Wet n Wild products but reading this I hope to in the future :)

@Adeline - LOL about crush cosmetics. I'm just too impatient sometimes to order from o'seas and wait for them

@Yami - so cheap there, everything here is double or triple the price of it over there. :(

@HelloKittyx94 - hope you get a chance to try them, it's got amazing pigmentation and easy to use.

@The Makeup Fairy - you're gonna go so crazy in America, i can tell! LOL

@Vita - So far I'm loving it, but I'll have to see how long they last on the eye, etc. before I make my final judgment.

  14. @Mez - crush is def more expensive than buying from o'seas, but their shipping is cheaper and you get your deliveries in around 2 days! And for impatient people like me, that's a big bonus!

  15. WHAAAAAAAT?! Holy kittens that's so expensive! Part of the selling point for me is their low price. I'm glad you were able to get Comfort Zone though, i've been putting off my review because I only have the blue one and Petal Pusher.

  16. @Eden_Avalon - yep! That is how ridiculously overpriced it is here!

  18. I love Wet n Wild, although I only have the Night Elf palette :) You should try the Club dupe shade over a green pencil liner (though it might seem like a lot of steps) because it transforms into a beautiful emerald/foresty green.
