LOTD and Blogger's high tea

I love the beauty blogging community in Sydney, everyone is so lovely and I've made great friends since joining their ranks 6 months ago. So when Sara-May of Makeup By Sara-May organised high tea last Sunday at The Victoria Room in Sydney's Darlinghurst, I had to go.

The Victoria Room is one of my favourite places to go. The decor is absolutely stunning, which their website describes as "British Raj". The photo below is from their website... I was having so much fun chatting with the girls that I forgot to take pics of the place!

When planning my outfit for the day, I knew I wanted some splashes of red to suit the surroundings, so I settled on red shoes (not shown), lipstick, nails and ring.

Lipstick: Rimmel "Kiss Me"
Nails: Orly "Lola"
Ring: by Aqua; Earrings: gift from mother-in-law
Striped top: FCUK
White blazer: Paper Scissors

High Tea at The Victoria Room starts from $45. A bit pricey, but you're also paying for the atmosphere. You get lovely sandwiches, scones, mini-cakes and sweets, and of course tea. There was so much food that some of us took cakes home in doggie bags.

Red Velvet Cupcakes, Scones, and my Earl Grey.

And when you get a bunch of beauty bloggers in a room together what happens? We do a beauty swap of course, just like at the last beauty blogger meet. Basically we all dumped our unwanted beauty products on the table and then helped ourselves to the loot. I picked up a couple of things which I'm yet to play with.

Beauty products, ready to be grabbed.

If you want to see a pic of me going in for the kill, i.e. getting grabby with some goodies, head on over to Aryanny's blog.

What have you been up to lately? If you're a blogger, do you socialise with other bloggers?

  8. LOVE that lipstick on you. Will have to investigate it in store!

Brisbane beauty bloggers organised a lunch/swap meet but I didn't go because I don't really have anything I wanted to swap, but now I wish I'd gone. D:
