Lipstick Love of the Week - NYX Paris

The trouble with following bloggers from all over the world, especially from the northern hemisphere, is that when they are writing excitedly about summer things we in Australia are well and truly in cold winter mode.

And because of the cooler weather here in Sydney, lately I've been favouring more pinky tone lipsticks. Just something that's easy to wear and won't look too bright and out there on cloudy gloomy days (which today was!)

NYX Round lipstick in Paris is a favourite pink of mine that has been on high rotation in the last few weeks.

It's a mauvey pink, very muted, and easy to wear. It's very very creamy, and on my lips lasts about 3 hours before I need to reapply. The only thing I don't like about it is that the creaminess also makes the lipstick somewhat fragile and easily susceptible to breaking. While none of my NYX round lippies have actually broken, in summer I have to keep them in the fridge as otherwise they turn to mush.

I find that whenever I wear this lipstick I need to do a brighter cheek, as otherwise it can make me look somewhat ashen. My new NARS blush in Desire, which I reviewed HERE, is a perfect match for this lipstick as both are cool toned.

The rest of my make up is as follows:

FACE
Maybelline Dream Liquid Mousse foundation in Classic Ivory
Illamasqua Powder foundation in PF120
Benefit Hoola Contour
NARS Desire Blush

EYES
Inglot #501 eyeshadow on eyelid
Inglot #502 eyeshadow in crease
Australia Pencil Eyeliner in Black
Covergirl Lash Blast mascara in Black

EYEBROWS
Rimmel Eyebrow Pencil in black/brown

LIPS
NYX Round lipstick in Paris.

If you're still craving bright orange and coral lips, don't forget to check out Krystal's guest post on my blog last week where she talked about her two favourite bright lipsticks.

  12. @Hannah - thanks hun, yes you do need to get some NYX :-)

@Kayleigh - thanks so much, it's a new favourite combo!

@Heather - thanks re the hair, trying to get it healthy by getting regular trims.

@Lerina Melissa - You are the queen of pink lips based on your blog! :)

@thebeautydispensary - thanks so much, glad you find them useful. And nyx are quite cheap so it's not a bad little collection to start.

@Eden Avalon - it's a fairly common colour I think, it looks quite similar in tone to MAC Snob but much creamier and darker.

  13. So gorgeous you! Love that colour!
No NYX here in SA (and I'm afraid of online shopping abroad) but I read that MAC Snob might be a dupe?
