G-Star ROARRR

Last week my husband and I were invited to the opening of the new G-Star RAW concept store at Castle Towers in Sydney's north west.
I admit, I don't shop there for clothes for myself (I'm more of a girlie girl... in case you can't tell, G-Star is all about funky denims and fashionable urban outfits), but it is a shop that the husband and I frequent quite often because he loves the trendy clothes they have. In fact it's probably one of a handful of stores that the husband will go to willingly, i.e. without me needing to coax him, and threaten him, and pull him into.

G-Star RAW is a European brand that was established in 1989. It is very well known for its luxury denims in various washes, cuts and colours. They even have these strangely cut 3D jeans which when laid out flat look as if they're sewn on twisted, but when worn they gather around the legs in a 3D manner. Their denim wall is just impressive.
The staff working there were super helpful and friendly and helped the husband shop for some new clothes. Why is it that men hate shopping for clothes? Although I must say that the husband was quite happy at finding a long sleeved G-Star t-shirt that would be perfect for layering with.

We went straight after work, hence looking so blah... ok fine, I did add a brighter lippy to make me look a bit less blah but it didn't work. And we won't even talk about the messy wind swept hair.

While there we bumped into another blogger, Adeline from Through Beauty's Eyes and her friend.

Me, Adeline and her friend.

The new face of G-Star is Gemma Arterton from Prince of Persia, and Quantum of Solace. “I feel like a tough girl in a fancy frock sometimes, and I think G-Star is the same. I like the contradiction between glamour and durability. Sometimes people are shocked when they meet me because of this contradiction,” she says.

If she can make androgynous dressing look feminine and glam, I'm definitely going to give G-Star RAW a go as well. That would definitely be one shopping trip where the husband won't complain!

PS: A huge thank you to Thom from Niche Marketing Group for the invite!
