Review - Bourjois Healthy Mix concealer

When I did my March favourites post a few days ago I realised that I hadn't done a review of this concealer before, when in fact it is something I've been using quite a lot lately.

My under eye area isn't really that bad, but I still like to use an illuminating concealer to give a glow to that area.

When looking for a concealer, the effect I want is the one that the beautiful Kim is sporting on the right... versus the one on the left where she is clearly wearing the wrong shade for her skintone.

That said, this concealer by Bourjois is perfect for giving that undereye glowy look.

I have the colour called Light Radiance, and up until recently this was too light for me as I had a bit of a summer tan. Now it's perfect.

Despite it looking quite pale in the swatch below, it blends away beautifully under the eye. And most importantly it goes on creamy and doesn't cake at all, lasting the whole day.

Here's my under eye area before and after... I know you can't see the full effect in the pic below, but hopefully you can see the illuminating effect in the pic on the right.

I will use Healthy Mix in a FOTD soon, and hopefully that will show better the glowy effect this concealer gives.

Have you tried this concealer before? What are some of your favourites?

  3. I really like Benefit Erase Paste because my under eye area is usually really bad, but it's been a bit better lately and I've been using the Healthy Mix foundation there with a little bit of mineral powder over to set.

  4. It's funny how when you try and take a before/after picture of concealer, it never looks as different as in real life! I usually give up in frustration lol. This concealer looks lovely though, I'll keep an eye out :)

  5. I absolutely ADORE this concealer which is a shame because it's impossible to find in the US!

  6. @Ms SparkleArkle - thanks hun, keep an eye out for it in Priceline as quite often they put it 50% off.

@Ellysmakeupbag - I've never actually tried touche eclat despite the numerous great reviews. Maybe when this one is over...

@Facefixers - I was tossing up between Erase Paste and this one but this one won due to the price. Glad you're liking your Healthy Mix foundations!

@Pop Makeup - you are so right! So difficult to show it in a pic, so I'm hoping in a full face FOTD it will show better.

@Jessica - Oh that's a shame it's not easy to find there, for its price it definitely does its great job.

  7. I think it looks great! As much as I love Bourjois, I always am disappointed by the colour range as I'm so dark :(

  8. @The Concealer - yeah it's such a shame as they have limited colours. I actually have trouble choosing foundations from them as the colour is never right... no matter what colour I swatch it gives my face a grey-ish tinge.

  11. Hi Lilit,

for me the Concealer is very important. I have tried all MAC Concealers and now I have the Pro-Longwear Concealer from MAC and I like it, but I hope I find better one.

    Your nailpolish looks great!

  14. @Maryam - thanks hun, and the nailpolish is Lola by Orly, a new fave shade.

@Vintage makeup - you're welcome sweetie, I know a few people wanted to know more about this frm my fave post so i thought I'd better review it

@Sandra - I'm forever on the lookout for a better concealer, so who knows maybe when this one runs out I'll probably try a differnet one.

@Jadegrrrl - doesn't priceline has some crazy promotion on at the moment, e.g. spend $50 get a heap of freebies? Good excuse to shop!

  18. I bought this concealer and whilst I liked the texture unfortunately I look more like Kim K in the picture on the left... I don't even think it will be okay in the depths of winter when I'm paler. :( Oh well, the concealer, as well as a Bloom brow kit in med-dark, has been a welcome pass on to my gorgeously groomed step-daughter. You know when you think your brows are dark until you actually buy something in "dark" - and find you should be blonde-medium. I'll be going back to buy the Bloom brow kit in the right shade for me.

  19. @Kath - oh what a shame the concealer wasn't right for you (but a win for your stepdaughter!). I haven't tried the Bloom brow kit but I know what you mean about "dark". I'm darker than you and those are too dark even for me. I usually just use whatever mid-brown shadows I can find for my brows as I've given up searching for the perfect brow kit.

  20. Have since purchased the Bloom Brow Kit in light-medium and it's fantastic. Provides really well shaped and coloured brows, better than the pencil alone I used to use.

  21. @Kath - yeay glad to see you found a brow kit that works for you. I'm really thinking I need to get one as well, as the matte eyeshadows I use on my brows aren't doing it for me anymore. I might check out the Bloom one next time I'm at Myer.
