Thanks so much to everyone for sticking through this lipstick challenge collection.
Today's look is using Gosh Lambada.
Ahh lambada, dancin' the lambada... does anyone remember that Brazilian song from early 90s? If you don't remember it, it's the original version of J Lo's On The Floor.
Anyway back to the lipstick... I really wanted to love it, I really did. I saw this colour on a few blogs and absolutely loved how it looked so I hunted it down at the Melbourne based online store Zuza
The colour itself is a gorgeous true red, a very creamy formula and somewhat long lasting. I didn't experience any bleeding even without using a lipliner.
All up it's a great lipstick... but... I don't think the colour suits me. I'm sure you guys have all figured out I love bright lips, so it's not that it's too bright or anything, I just think it makes me look older and I don't feel like me when wearing this.
I wore it out to dinner, as I couldn't pull it off at day time. I think this will be going either in the unloved makeup box, or given away to mum or cousin.

I actually LOVE it on you! I really mean it - I'm not just saying it because you're thinking of giving it to your mom, lol. I feel like the whole look really suits you and looks really sophisticated. Sometimes when I wear red I think it makes me look older too, but if I am trying to minimize that (sometimes I just don't care), I'll wear very little makeup on the rest of my face...like just a neutral, matte blush (or matte bronzer and no blush), mascara and maybe a simple winged out liner and that's it. xx
ReplyDeleteI don't think it looks bad on you in terms of the colour suiting you but... I don't like it on you. There I've said it. And in no way do I think you bad in it... I just don't think it suits you as a person. Does that sound odd? I think if someone didn't know you and hadn't seen you in other colours they'd think it was perfect.
ReplyDeleteI'm with Tiffany on this one. I love it.
ReplyDeleteBut I guess it's whatever makes you feel sexy and comfortable, and if this doesn't...
I think you'd look amazing with a deep crimson red lip
Hmmm I don't think it sits well with the rest of your make-up.
ReplyDeleteI would try it with less blush, maybe bronzer instead, something with more orange pigments in it?
With thicker eye liner.
It is a beautiful colour.

Oh and don't apologise about your daily uploads this week - not boring at all! I am really enjoying this thread and I appreciate the time and effort you put into your blog to provide great material for us. xx
ReplyDeleteI think red lips age me too, but it looks great on you. Very classy.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your honest feedback ladies, truly appreciate it!
ReplyDelete@Tiffany and Jen - thanks girls, i might have to try it with less makeup on the rest of the face before I giveaway this lippy. I'll give it one more try...
@Kath - I'm with you on that, I don't think it's me at all. I feel more like my mum than me, LOL. And thanks for the feedback, I'm really enjoying blogging so it's good to hear that you're all enjoying reading it. xx
@Sinead - thanks for your honesty, I do think I need to give it a try with different makeup on the rest of the face. I think my foundation looks too cool toned for the warm toned lippy so bronzer is the way to go.

Thanks @Ellysmakeupbag - maybe with warmer face colours it'll be less ageing... I'll give it another try taking on board the feedback from everyone, or else this lippy is going straight to my mum!
ReplyDeleteYou look lovely!
ReplyDeletethis looks good on you, i'm not sure how would look on me.
